Thank you rewords/rewordsdesign !!!

I was considering about writing another blog post for today, but yesterday's sudden doorbell that woke me up made me change my plans. I received a beautiful package from my great friend Yosuke Watanabe from rewords/rewordsdesign! Despite the fact that rewords is menswear-only clothing brand, I still managed to get an amazing present that I never even dream(t) about; leather bracelet A2.00 and shell cotton long jacket, both pieces from A/W 2015-16 collection.

The quality is simply amazing - a minimalist slim-fit design with particular emphasis on cuts and stitching, as well as pocket details. An easily wearable piece, that can be combined with almost everything in/on a great variety of situations. 

In return, this is my way of thanking you for all this; Therefore, I've decided to dedicate today's blog post to this present as a small token of gratitude.

Dn Che - "The Trap" A/W 2015-16

Gemini Chernyavskaya Dasha and Natasha are names behind brand Dn Che. Launched in 2010, in the city of Krasnoyarsk, this Russian duo began to create not only clothes, but also unusual in shape and material accessories and hats. Collection for A/W 2015-16 was inspired by thrillers of 80s and 90s ("The Shining," "Silence of the Lambs," "American Psycho," "Seven," "Kiss the Girls"). 

"We have recreated a thriller, based on these films. The protagonist, a quiet and private man in life, but with dark thoughts and desires."

Collateral Concepts - 4th Iteration

Collateral Concepts is a product of continued experimentation. Each piece is made to evoke emotions and make wearer think. Made of rare fabrics, materials, and with classic garment construction, to the final product; their designs are telling stories.

Albert Huang - founder and head designer of Collateral Concepts. The line was born out of his constant personal pursuit to create and learn. Completely self taught, Albert continues to experiment with precious metals, leathers, fabric treatments and the complexities of patterning. His approach to design is from that of one in the medical field and with a strong background in research. All pieces are handmade by the designer himself.

"We create works that are culminations of personal experience, understanding of the human form, and intense research. Following the scientific method, each piece is developed through testing and retesting of an initial idea until the final form matches what is envisioned. At the same time, we create works that fit the human form naturally; exercising our intimate understanding of human anatomy and movement."

Irina Chervenkova - S/S 2015

Irina Chervenkova never stops to amaze me with her collections. From the first collection, and mix of various natural materials in combination with leather, Bulgarian designer done U turn and released full leather collection with great details, stitches and cuts. Stayed loyal to her style, Chervenkova moved few steps ahead, and raised her work on next level.

Sandrine Philippe - A/W 2015-16

Sandrine Philippe studied fashion design in France and worked as a designer with Popy Moreni and Courrèges after which she created her own brand. Sandrine’s work is notorious for the heavy textural work that involves handmade techniques and leather treatments processes combined with human sensibilities and artisanal aesthetics. Each piece of her collection has its own story, and in combination with wearer becomes complete. It is constant combination od past, present and future. Main inspiration for AW15 collection was designer's curious spirit and search of the possibility to explore something new, gain experience, and share her emotions with others through each of her designs.

L by Lamin Marong - A/W 2015

L is a Finnish-based design label founded in 2010 by Lamin Marong. In 2013 Lamin finished Master´s Programme in Fashion and Clothing design at Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture, Helsinki.  The label designs and makes clothing specialised in jackets and accessories. Source of inspiration derive from Scandinavian environment - its architecture and minimal aesthetic, history and the stories of explorers behind ethnography, ideas of simplicity and sustainability.
