Rick Owens never stops to surprise us. With each collection he is going from one extreme to another. The collection for A/W 2015-16 takes us on otherworldly journey mixing tribal, primal, sci-fi and creaturesque hallmarks and present them off as one. Models were shown as a statue with faces painted gold and silver. Apart from this great detail, ‘Sphinx’ contains of folded dresses and skirts, as well as, asymmetrical jackets and coats. The overall look is futuristic space-age with accent on high collars and switchboard panel of top pieces and dresses. Finishing touch was given with gladiator alike sandals and wedge boots.
“I’ve been looking at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Hollyhock house and obsessing over it. I mean, what would you wear in the Hollyhock house? What clothes could possibly live up to that?”
